Mel Weisblatt was a principal of MBI Business Brokers.  In 1991 he merged his company with Probus, forming Probus/MBI Business Brokers & Consultants.  In 1996 he formed his own company, Probus Business Sales.

Since entering the field in 1988, he has gained the respect and trust of buyers, sellers and colleagues alike.  He has achieved the designation of Certified Business Broker, one of only about 100 brokers who has qualified for this designation.

He has presented seminars throughout the Bay Area to educate both buyers and sellers, as well as speaking before professional organizations.  He is an active member of SCORE and presents seminars on buying and selling businesses for that organization.

Mel was elected to the Board of Directors of the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB), first as treasurer, then as president.  He chaired numerous educational conferences for business brokers and served as the editor of the CABB Journal.

In 2005 he was asked to be the Executive Director of CABB, and more recently served another two terms on the Board
